I am hopeful it is just out room as I did not smell it elsewhere in the hotel, so did not reduce my rating for it. I could be wrong on the reason, but the room certainly reaked of the carpet deodorizer or freshener or whatever it is. We had a non smoking room but I suspect it hasn’t always been and they are covering that up with freshener. Similar to Harrah‘ in Vegas where it is intended to cover the smell of cigarette smoke. Bed: good, medium firmness Pillow: great, nice and soft Lighting: great, only a few lamps but very bright bulbs Water pressure: ok, rain shower head only and had water saver restrictor Hot water: great, plenty Shower curtain: cloth with curved bar to keep it off you Exhaust fan in bathroom: great, turned on with switch and effective Cleanliness: good Interior sound proofing: ok, hallway noise but not too much else Exterior sound proofing: great, heard nothing Thermostat controls: great, you can turn on heat or air WiFi: great, free and fairly fast Room layout: made sense, adequate, wish bathroom door swung out instead of in though Elevators: great, almost no waiting Misc: they have an iPad of sorts in the room for information instead of the old traditional book in the drawer, kind of cool, was missing channel guide and checkout ability (which didnt work over the tv either, but could be done over the phone) Room had an odor reminiscent of strong air freshener intended to cover something up.
